Martinez joins Manchester United from Ajax.
Manchester United has finalized the acquisition of Ajax midfielder Lisandro Martinez.
The agreement to bring the Argentina defender to Old Trafford is estimated to be worth up to 67 million euros.
Erik ten Hag, manager of the Red Devils, was eager to reunite with the 24-year-old, whom he signed for Ajax in 2019.
Martinez joins the club on a five-year deal that will retain him until 2027, with an option for an additional year.
“It’s an honor to be a part of such a wonderful football team,” Martinez remarked.
“I’ve worked so hard to get here, and now that I’m here, I’m going to push myself even more.”
Martinez made 120 appearances for Ajax after joining from Defensa y Justicia in Argentina in 2019. He also played for Newell’s Old Boys.
