Tambuwal will mend the North-South divide, says ex-lawmaker

Yemi Arokodare, a former member of the Nigerian House of Representatives, has urged Nigerians to give Sokoto State Governor Aminu Tambuwal the chance to serve the country and spark a paradigm change for a better Nigeria.
“Tambuwal has the leadership courage, reach, and resilience to reshape, redirect, reform, and save the country,” said Arokodare, who served in the House of Representatives from 2003 to 2007 and was Chairman of the House Committee on Communications.

He urged the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to allow the governor of Sokoto State and former Speaker of the House of Representatives a fair chance to run for the party’s presidential nomination.
“Governor Tambuwal led the House of Representatives with distinction; he displayed justice, equality, and inclusive leadership; we should give him the chance to mend the damaged trust between the North and the South,” he said.

“If we can offer Tambuwal a tremendous opportunity to serve and lead this magnificent but poorly run country, we can be confident that he will bring together the best of the North and South to reform and transform Nigeria.” He once headed a thriving crop of lawmakers from throughout the country, demonstrating a high level of responsible and unique leadership that had established him as someone capable of governing Nigeria on the basis of justice, fairness, and inclusivity.

“Nigeria requires a paradigm shift with a new group of tested and trustworthy leaders who can steer the country in a new direction for progress and wealth, and Tambuwal is the man to accomplish it.” Tambuwal has done a great job leading the PDP Governors’ Forum; he has treated party leaders and members with great respect; and he is the type of leader who can bring our country together and tear down barriers.

“His leadership has the potential to heal Nigerians, achieve social justice for everyone, and usher in a new and workable governance order.” Tambuwal is a consummate democrat who has distinguished himself in the three arms of government as a member of the body of benchers, a Parliamentarian, and, most recently, as a superb human and resource management. Arokodare described him as “well-rounded” in terms of his ability to produce effective administration.
