R. Kelly Sentenced To 30 Years Imprisonment For Sex Crimes

R Kelly, a popular US musician, has been sentenced to 30 years in federal prison on sex crimes.

The brilliant musician was sentenced on Wednesday after being found guilty of racketeering and sex trafficking in a trial last year.

On Wednesday, Judge Ann M. Donnelly condemned the 55-year-old singer in Brooklyn Federal Court.
The defense counsel asked for a sentence of 10 years or less, while the prosecutors demanded at least 25 years.

Judge Donnelly informed Kelly that he had left a trail of broken lives and that “even the most seasoned detectives will not forget the atrocities your victims faced.”

“These crimes were intentional, meticulously planned, and routinely performed for nearly 25 years,” she added.

“You taught them that love is servitude and brutality.”

Kelly, who refused to speak on Wednesday, was also fined $100,000.

Since his trial, Kelly has been held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn. It is unknown where Kelly will serve his term.
