The governorship elections in Osun State are presently underway, with Davido’s uncle, Ademola Adeleke, among the leading candidates.

On Saturday, July 16, 2022, the musician announced this on his Twitter account.

“Them dey promise people money them no get! People Dey change am for them. Rubbish,”ย he tweeted.

“Panic grips the APC camp. Giving folks money they don’t have! Don’t pay attention to them! Keep your vote! Chop their money and vote for PDP. They must leave. There is nothing they can do this time! #OsunDecides2022.”

The musician had previously warned of an alleged attempt to prevent supporters of his uncle, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in the ongoing Osun race, from voting.

“They are not letting our supporters vote in IFE….. @inecnigeria,” they said.

On Thursday, July 14, Davido appeared in Osun for the PDP big event.

Adeleke will run for governor of Osun State for the second time.

Adeleke campaigned against the incumbent governor, Oyetola Gboyega, in 2019.

Following a Supreme Court judgment, he was defeated by Oyetola.
