Two people are said to have been killed as gunmen attack an Enugu police checkpoint.

Two police officers are said to have been slain after gunmen stormed a police checkpoint in Enugu South Local Government Area of the state.

During the incident on Thursday morning, the gunmen opened fire on two cops on duty and other people, according to the techedgeict.

It was discovered that homeowners and commuters scurried to safety during the minutes-long firing.

It is uncertain whether the shooters assaulted the MTD police station, which is near the checkpoint, at the time of reporting this article.

In a separate event, bandits are said to have abducted two Chinese nationals and murdered thirteen security personnel during a raid on a mining site in Niger State.

According to Naija News, the attack occurred on Wednesday afternoon in Ajata, Aboki in Gurmana ward of Niger State’s Shiroro Local Government Area.
Sani Kokki, Co-convener, Concerned Shiroro Youth of Niger State, told reporters on Thursday that gunmen assaulted the mining site and opened fire on employees and security personnel.

He further said that the bandits abducted an unspecified number of persons, including two Chinese expats.
